The main uses of circuit breakers

A circuit breaker is a device that protects circuits, mainly used to prevent overload and short circuit problems of electrical equipment. Circuit breakers are widely used in power systems, construction, industry, and transportation. The specific uses are as follows:

1. In power systems, circuit breakers are used to control and protect equipment such as transmission lines, transformers, and generators, prevent circuit overload, short circuit, and other abnormal conditions, and ensure the normal operation of the power grid.

2. In the construction field, circuit breakers can prevent electrical lines in houses from being overloaded, overloaded, and short-circuited, ensuring the safety inside the building.

3. In the industrial field, circuit breakers are mainly used to protect motors and other electrical equipment, and can quickly cut off the current to prevent equipment from being damaged by overcurrent or short circuit.

4. In the field of transportation, circuit breakers are used to monitor circuits, cut off the current in time, prevent electrical equipment from failing, and ensure driving safety.

Common types of circuit breakers

Depending on the usage scenarios and functions, there are many types of circuit breakers, the most common of which are the following three:

1. Low-voltage circuit breaker: suitable for low-voltage circuit protection, commonly used in household appliances, distribution boxes and other occasions.

2. Medium-voltage circuit breaker: suitable for medium-voltage lines, commonly used in industrial, commercial or rural distribution networks.

3. High-voltage circuit breaker: suitable for high-voltage circuit protection, generally used in power distribution schemes of power systems or other large institutions.

In addition to different pressure levels, there are two different types of circuit breakers: air switches and vacuum switches. Air switches use atmospheric pressure for operation, while vacuum switches use vacuum as a medium. In other words, vacuum switches are safer and more reliable because they can ensure that the circuit is cut off at a lower current.
